Spookyworld is Back this Haunt Season!!!

WRITTEN BY NECROMAGIKAL (Rotting Writer of R.F.R.)
How we remember with sentiment those early days in Berlin. That’s Berlin Massachusetts, not Nazi Germany. Well it could be Germany if you had blonde hair, blue eyes, are very tall, and laughed to yourself when you burned bagels in the toaster but I digress way off topic.
Berlin Massachusetts was the origin of that New England haunted house Spookyworld. It was a time where it had yet to fully cave to ridiculous commercialism, overpriced parking, and hocked dusty crap from Berlin. They saved that for the move to Foxboro and booked cheerleaders, Dawson’s Creek stars, and pro wrestlers. And they weren’t even dead!
My distaste for the Foxboro version aside, we all sighed somewhat when Spookyworld closed it doors. We all sighed and laughed (I laughed at least) also at the way overpriced faded peeling crap at their infamous joke of an auction as well. As David Bertalino laughs his way to the bank, Spookyworld has news owners. As you may have heard on the industry message boards, the folks over at Boneyard Productions have acquired the name and world we know as “Spookyworld”. They are establishing the event in the Boston area and are boasting “A New England Tradition is back!” Well that’s cool. You can never have too many haunts in our world. Let’s hope that a “New England tradition” does not mean lame scares, guests having nothing to do with the horror genre, and over priced second rate garbage.
In a world where hopes and dreams are often crushed by the weight of reality, I have faith in Boneyard Productions. I have faith that they will not make the same errors that the original owners did and produce a place where the only horror is the haunt itself.
No opening date as of yet and the timeline ever shortens as we approach the 2006 season. The official website www.spookyworld.com is under construction but offers consolation of “check back soon”.
