Ohio, The "Buckeye" state, was home to many peaceful Native Americans before the settlers forged west and the history of Ohio became bloody and brutal. The violent frontier in Ohio, pioneers and soldiers continued to encroach on natives lives and forced them from their homes on the east coast to Ohio.  Unfortunately, this created a more violent and brutal way of life.  From the pioneers to the soldiers, the disrespect of the natives and the brutal way they were disposed of created an anger that would fuel the souls of the Native American tribesman forever.  The most brutal massacre in Ohio's history is the Gnadenhutten Massacre.  The very peaceful, unarmed, Delaware Christian Indians were murdered, bodies piled inside their mission buildings.  Men, women, and children were murdered and the soldiers burned their remains along with burning the entire village.  These Natives were a pacifists and posed no threat to anyone.  The massacre became a main source of revenge from the other Native American Indian tribes for almost 30 years.  Ohio, a Union State during the Civil War, sent over 320,000 men, that was 60% of the men in the state.  Only two minor battles occurred with-in the state boundaries, but the soldiers fought in all the major bloody and horrific battles during the war.  Casualties were gruesome, horrific, and the stench of death burned into their psyche, the evilness of war is something you never forget.  Those whom were fortunate to return suffered: infection, dismemberment, disease, or the psychological damage.  The Civil War brought industrialization and manufacturing to Ohio.  Cleveland became a ship building gold mine.  Garment industries flourished.  The increased wealth brought greed and money ruled society.  With industrialization came the common deaths on the floors of the manufacturing plants which occurred often.  There were no safety devices on machinery.  Many men, women, and children were at risk.  Once injured, you may have never returned.  Many not knowing if you lived or died.  Cincinnati also played an important role during the Civil War because it was a port city where supplies were transported by ship.  Cincinnati was across the river from the "slave state" of Kentucky and Ohio was a “free state”.  The underground railroad route and all the brutality that came with trying to escape slavery came to Cincinnati, Ohio.  From the massacred Native Americans, to the thousands of damaged soldiers, the Black slaves who attempted escape from their captors, Ohio contains the revengeful souls of the men, women, and children who become enslaved in purgatory of the most violent and industrious time in Ohio's history.   From the gruesome and violent battles, brutal wars, to the industrialization of our state, Ohio has seen its share and now paying the price.  Our state rich in the evils of history is now one of the areas best in the haunt world.  Ohio is pivotal in the vortex of evils and of the ancient history of our country.  Ohio contains the spirits of many who's deaths left angry spirits behind who seek revenge.  Ohio has a multitude of the scariest haunted houses, paranormal activity, haunted mazes, haunted hayrides, ghost tours, paranormal activity, manors, attractions, ranches, caves, schoolhouses, trails, mines, forests, towns, and more.  Ohio is a portal to the depths of the haunt world.  Demons and messengers of the under-lord return to experiment and do research in their dungeons and chambers in the chill of the fall under the spells of pure wickedness.  Ohio is home to many haunted attractions that are well known in the haunt world.  The haunted houses are well worth the trip.  These attractions have been seen on the Weather Channel, the Travel Channel, americasbesthaunts.com, and many of the local Cincinnati and Columbus television, radio stations, magazines, and newspapers.  Visit this haunted world of twisted and deranged: haunted houses, forests, trails, farms, mazes, hotels, asylums, penitentiaries, castles, indoor and outdoor attractions.  Ohio state is at the top of the haunt world and considered the areas best haunted attractions.  Find the most innovative animatronics, scary monsters, creepy zombies, demented demons, creatures from the depths of the underworld, cutting edge technology and have your nightmares brought to life right here in Ohio.

Willmington Haunted Hollow Ride - located in Clinton County, Wilmington, Ohio, will take you on a ride like no other.  Hop on our semi for a unique ride through the horror of the Haunted Hollow.  Monsters, madness, mayhem, and a fire breathing semi to chase away the evils in the forest begin your trip to terror.  Check in at the Slaughter Hotel.  Samuel Slaughter built this hotel while he was searching for his bride.  An unusual Slaughter Hotel buried 12 floors below the earths surface.  No one knows why this hotel was built below the earth, and worse yet, a key with room #1313 was found along with an unknown female body.  They also found Samuel Slaughter’s lifeless body, appearing as if he died of an lightening bolt strike which hit the hotel and him, and destroyed a large part of the hotel.  While investigating the woman's death the key was mistakenly dropped down the elevator shaft.   Broken at the time, the elevator was the only way down to the secret floor.   Where is room #1313 and what is inside?  Is this a honeymoon suite or an experimental lab?  What will your find in the depths of the Slaughter Hotel and how will you check out?  Samuel Slaughter did say that  “Underground, no one....can hear you scream!”  If you escape the Hotel, we will tempt you at the Nightmare Penitentiary, witness the execution of a prisoner in the gas chamber.  Travel through security check points into the depths of the prison.  Beware, the dead prisoners are rioting and you will get caught up in their desire for fresh meat, for they are hungry for warm flesh.  Careful for if you get locked in, you may never get out!  If you get out, are you really free?  The escaped prisoners are still on the loose, when you think you are safe, terror might not be over.......

Dent Schoolhouse, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is a lesson in fear!  The Dent Schoolhouse opened in 1894 to teach the children from kindergarten to 12th grade.  Over the years, kids whom were trouble makers seemed to disappear.  A few here, and a few there.  Originally passed off as run-a-ways, the continuation of more children missing angered the locals.  Occasionally awful odors came from the basement of the school, and were always taken care of by the janitor, Charlie.  In 1955, seven more students vanished.  This time the community rallied and stormed the Dent Public School.  What they found in the basement was a grizzly sight that will never be forgotten.  Now haunted with the remains of the dead, the old schoolhouse has been opened to let you experience the troubled spirits of the children who were ‘taken care of’.  Rumors that Charlie the janitor may be seen cleaning up the old schoolhouse. Ranked as one of the best haunted houses in the nation, The Dent Schoolhouse is worth the trip.
